Join us as a CFR
We are always looking for new CFRs to join our group, if your are interested, please visit the NHS Jobs Website and search for Community First Responder or contact us.
You will need no previous medical experience or knowledge.
You will be recieve all training by West Midlands Ambulance Service at their National Academy, this is done over a few consecutive weekends, this is then followed by several buddy shifts with our group
Over the course of the training there are 2 multiple choice exams as well as practical test scenarios
All of the training is provided free of charge by the Ambulance Service
Uniforms are then provided by our group
You will need to be over 18 to become a CFR and over 25 to drive the responder vehicle
Our responders usually go on-call in pairs, some do go on-call solo but this is by no means a requirment
You must live in or very near to the village of Gnosall
When on-call you must be ready to go at a moments notice from your home or workplace
The time expected of volunteers for the Ambulance Service is 200 hours per year, this sounds a lot but it works out to an average of 4 hours per week
